The Attune Project

novel, self-guided, evidence-based, digital programme to improve body image and psychological wellbeing in young adults.

In recent years, body image has become a major concern affecting youth mental health in Ireland, with approximately 72% of young people struggling with body-image related issues.

Despite this, there is a lack of accessible, effective e-programmes and knowledge of how best to use digital technologies to improve body image.

Attune aims to target these problems by developing a brand new, comprehensive digital resource for young adults. Attune will be designed by researchers and the public and its helpfulness will be tested through successive studies.

Objectives

1

To design a person-centred resource to improve body image in young adults

2

To evaluate the effectiveness of this resource to improve body image in young adults

3

To further our understanding of body image and mental health in young people

Funding

We are funded by Research Ireland Pathways Grant 2025-29.
